This month marked the opening of two new campuses in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province – a new campus of Nanjing University of Science and Technology in Jiangyin and a new campus of Southeast University in Binhu, enriching the city's higher education.

Zhang Jiwen, vice president of the new Wuxi campus of Southeast University, said the campus will focus on innovation in high-end chips and micro-nano fabrication and will enhance cooperation with enterprises and research institutes to better educate students.

The new Wuxi campus of Nanjing University of Science and Technology welcomed more than 2,300 new students on Sept 9.

Mei Jinchun, vice president of the campus, said its colleges of engineering, smart manufacturing, and industrial internet will help develop key local industries.

According to the city's education bureau, Wuxi is looking to cooperate with some of the world's top universities to enhance international education and build art institutions to enrich the local culture industry.
