Analytical Chemistry
About the course
Analytical chemistry is the science of investigating the theories and methods about the chemical composition, content and structure of matter. The course of Analytical Chemistry for full-time Year 2 undergraduate international students was launched on September 2014 in China Pharmaceutical University, which has been opened for seven rounds till now.
The content of Analytical Chemistry course contains chemical reaction and equilibrium, titration analysis, chromatography, spectroscopy, sample preparation, and the latest advances in separation science with the forms of lecture session and experiment session in one academic year. The aim of this course is to provide the fundamental knowledge and skills of chemical and instrumental analysis for the foreign pharmacy students. In addition, group discussion and presentation are included in the teaching activities in order to train the students' ability to define an analytical problem and find the solutions by themselves, which would be a solid foundation for their further study of other professional courses in pharmaceutical research.
The teaching staff for this course includes professor, associate professors, foreign teacher and senior technician, which is an energetic team with good teaching experience and awards, as well as the multi-level scientific research. All instructors have PhD degrees and have at least one year overseas study experience, which ensure the fluent English communication with the foreign students.
The course was recommended as the Excellent English-Taught Course for Foreign Students of Jiangsu Universities in 2017. After 3 years' further construction and polishment, the course nowadays is an outstanding example of blending online and offline teaching platform for Analytical Chemistry. We do believe the course of Analytical Chemistry could provide the foreign students useful knowledge and skills for their future study and research in pharmacy.
