About the course
Surgery pandect is an important link in the process of transition from basic medicine to clinical medicine for medical student. The course consists of theoretical teaching and practical teaching. It deals with the basic knowledge, basic theory and basic surgical skills of a discipline. Professional theory include surgery, shock and multiple organ dysfunction, water and electrolyte metabolism and acid-base balance, anesthesia and resuscitation, blood transfusions, preoperative preparation and postoperative treatment, surgical nutrition, surgical infection, injury and tumor; Clinical skills refers to correct way of using various commonly used surgical instruments, surgical aseptic operation concept, preparation procedures before surgery and basic operation skills during surgery, methods of opening and closing the abdominal cavity, common surgical methods such as appendectomy and splenectomy, judgment standard of burn depth, calculation of burn area and principles of first aid treatment, general methods of anesthesia, tracheal intubation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) method.
By understanding the development history of surgery, feeling the origin of surgery, and the humanistic connotation in the development process, the course can cultivate students' humanistic spirit and improve their humanistic qualities. By firmly and skillfully mastering general surgical theory and theoretical skills, students can lay a solid foundation for future research on various surgical theories, better understand and master the law of occurrence and development of surgical diseases, and smoothly enter clinical practice.
About the teacher
Professor Hong-Can Shi, MD, is Dean of Medical College and Translational Medicine Research Center of Yangzhou University, Member of Teaching Steering Committee for Clinical Medicine of the Ministry of Education, Member of the Expert Group for Clinical Medicine Certification of the Ministry of Education, Member of the Provincial Medical Postgraduate Education Steering Committee, Director of clinical medicine doctoral program and the postdoctoral mobile station. Pro. Shi also engaged in long-term teaching, scientific research, and clinical management work. He has presided over 5 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, published more than 150 papers, and guided 38 postgraduate students.
