An innovative bay area and a sci-tech park jointly developed by Qinhuai district and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) were recently unveiled, local media reported Oct 6.
Shan Zhongde, principal of NUAA, said the bay area and the park are expected to bond NUAA and Qinhuai district closer and bring them more resources and development opportunities.
"We plan to commercialize more research results in the next three to five years and strive to develop the two places into a hub of sci-tech resources, high-end industries and innovative services," Shan said.
Lin Tao, Party secretary of Qinhuai district, gave a thumbs-up to what the Silicon Alley has achieved since its establishment in September 2018. The first project co-developed by NUAA and Qinhuai district, the alley helped bring the "aging" urban area back into the spotlight with industrial and innovative glamour, and boosted the planning of a 6.6-square-kilometer area for industry-university-research cooperation.
Lin said the district will continue to seek more industry-university-research cooperation with NUAA and hopes to mobilize more of its alumni resources. It is also determined to settle more than 30 new research institutes and 15 high-end talent teams in the next five years.
