A seminar focusing on the international cooperation of Chinese language and vocational skills was held in Nanjing on Oct 25, local media reported.

The seminar was organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology.

The two sides reached an agreement to set up a center for international cooperation on Chinese language and vocational skills.

Ma Jianfei, director of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, said he hoped the center will boost more innovative development in setting professional standards, sharing educational resources, cultivating competent faculties, and carrying out vocational Chinese proficiency tests.

A total of 250 university and company representatives attended the event, sharing ideas on topics such as compiling Chinese language and vocational skills textbooks and opening free academic exchanges between overseas governments, enterprises, and educational institutions.
