Officials working in the educational sector in East China's Jiangsu province recently shared their ideas on the development of educational affairs that are of the most concern.

1. Deepening reform to make policies better focus on solving practical problems

In 2020, a total of 6,171 public and 592 private schools that offer compulsory education in Jiangsu started simultaneous student enrollment and registration, which eased the fever of parents keen on choosing good schools for their children.

A total of 5,405 cram schools that were trapped with problems like unqualified business certificates, teachers, and unqualified fire protection were closed since 2018, answering the public's call to regulate the cram school market.
