2. Offering resources to make education fairer and more quality

Jiangsu province has been renovating or expanding an average of 500 primary and middle schools every year since 2018, aiming to reduce the number of students in each class and enable more students to study at nearby schools.

The province also renovated or expanded about 50 high schools every year, which helped enroll over 120,000 students for three consecutive years.

About 500 kindergartens have been renovated or expanded in the past five years, which helped elevate Jiangsu's gross enrollment rate of preschool education to 98 percent. Financial support for public kindergartens was also raised from 300 yuan ($46.47) to 650 yuan per child per year.

3. Adhereing to people-oriented educational climate

Over 80 percent of primary and 50 percent of middle schools in Jiangsu started offering after-class services in recent years, which greatly helped ease the problems of parents who are unable to pick up their children at regular school-leaving time.

The educational department of Jiangsu has kept improving the after-class service system, such as requiring schools to charge at most 300 yuan per term, reducing or cutting the fees for students from poverty-stricken families, and offering a financial support of 190 million yuan to enhance the service in northern Jiangsu.

Schools have carried out various classes to enrich students' school lives and encouraged them to take part more in pysical exercises, fine arts, and mental health building.
