Intl students write auspicious couplets to welcome the Spring Festival
A calligrapher teaches an international student to write a Spring Couplet. As a symbol of the Spring Festival, Chunlian is commonly written on two pieces of red paper with a long rectangular shape. Some papers even feature gold blocking. The couplets have a variety of writing styles and their wording is meant to convey the owner's hopes for the upcoming year. They are normally hung on both sides of a doorframe, while an additional shorter one can be put horizontally above them and be on the doorframe. [Photo/IC]
