Luke Jones is an English teacher at the China University of Mining and Technology and can speak fluent Mandarin. Born in the United Kingdom, the 34-year-old has been in Xuzhou for 10 years, where he secured a job, got married with a local woman, and had a one-year-old son.

"Xuzhou is my home away from home. It is a city with a decent size, as it has the prosperity of metropolises and is also rich in human kindness," Jones said.

Jones added that he hoped to spend more time with his son and that if the COVID-19 pandemic recedes, he will take his son back to Britain to visit his grandparents, as well as the place his father once lived.
