On June 7, the first day of China's national college entrance exam, 359,000 high school students sat for their exams at 239 locations in East China's Jiangsu province.

Government departments in Jiangsu took measures to safeguard the students from COVID-19 and the summer heat and reduce the noise levels in the city to ensure a conducive examination environment. Special measures were also taken to assist 109 students with disabilities.

The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education has been collaborating with other authorities responsible for matters such as public security, communications, industry and information technology, and public health, to ensure the smooth running of the exams.
