The construction of the international innovation bay of Southeast University in Jiangbei New Area, Nanjing in East China's Jiangsu province commenced on June 7.

Constructed by SEU and Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, the innovation bay is located in the site of the former SEU Pukou campus and spans 80 hectares.

The project, which has received 22 billion yuan ($3.44 billion) in investment, is focused on key life health and integrated circuits technologies and is expected to become an international innovative ecological complex through cooperation between industry, university and research.

An innovation center for integrated circuits electronic design automation was also initiated on the launch ceremony.

Leading electronic design automation enterprises and scientific research units from around the world will help the center develop new technologies and products and gather talents.
