The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education announced 10 new plans to improve the quality of education during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) on June 29.
The plans are as follows:
Develop well-rounded students by improving their health literacy and aesthetic abilities.
Improve resources for basic education by increasing or expanding kindergartens, compulsory education schools, and regular high schools.
Establish provincial high-level secondary vocational schools, technical colleges, vocational colleges, and virtual simulation training centers for vocational skills.
Strive to develop world-class universities and majors through the cultivation of better disciplines and brand specialties and coordinate an innovation program and distinguished professor program.
Improve the quality and increase the quantity of graduate students to create a leading graduate education system with Jiangsu characteristics.
Build a one-stop, intelligent, and personalized service education platform for residents.
Improve the system for cultivating high-level talent at the national, provincial, and school levels based on platforms such as the Jiangsu Specially-engaged Professor Program.
Speed up innovative applications in education supported by new technologies like 5G, integrating both online and offline education.
Promote Sino-foreign cooperation in the management of colleges and universities and improve education for foreign students by opening joint laboratories and attracting overseas talent.
Take action to improve education evaluation. Develop scientific views on educational development, talent growth, and teachers' employment.
