Suzhou signed a strategic agreement with Nanjing University on July 14 to jointly build a Nanjing University-centered science and technology circle in the Taihu Lake Science and Technology Park in Suzhou New District.

As a key part of the Taihu Lake Science and Technology Park, the Nanjing University-centered sci-tech circle is expected to help introduce high-quality educational and medical resources and talents, such as the Suzhou Innovation Research Institute of Nanjing University.

Located in SND, the Suzhou campus of Nanjing University is under construction and will be put into use in September 2024, said Mao Wei, Party secretary of Huqiu district.

In addition, four affiliated schools of NJU were launched to be built in SND on the same day, which will be two kindergartens, one primary school, and one middle school. They will cover an area of 12.93 hectares and offer 6,000 degrees in total. As a result, SND will achieve full coverage of NJU affiliated schools from kindergarten to university.

The cooperation between SND and NJU dates back to 1995 when the two sides reached an agreement to cooperate in running a school.

In the future, SND, Suzhou, and Nanjing University will further cooperate on the construction of the NJU-centered sci-tech circle in Taihu Lake Science and Technology City, as well as strive to deeply integrate the district into the Yangtze River Delta region.
