The Jiangsu qualification trials of the 7th China College Students' 'Internet Plus' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held from Aug 22 to 24 at Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications.

The qualification trials attracted 377,500 participants in 94,200 teams from 146 universities and colleges in Jiangsu province. About 1,010 projects were submitted, of which 295 made it to the final.

The winners will take part in the national competition, which will be held in Nanchang, Jiangxi province in October.

This year's edition was different from previous ones in that all of the competition processes were carried out online for the first time.

The competition serves as a platform to display college students' abilities in innovation and starting a business. It also enhances cooperation between universities and companies in order to further promote the province's development in innovation and entrepreneurship, said Wang Chengbin, deputy director of the provincial department of education.
