Faculty members and students in universities across Jiangsu province took good care of international students on campus when a COVID-19 outbreak happened in the province in summer.

For example, faculty members at Yangzhou University took the temperature and checked the health code and travel histories of international students every day. They also guided the international students to receive nucleic acid tests to ensure their safety on campus.

Apart from physical health care, the university also provided online cultural activities, Chinese learning lectures, and psychological counseling services to relieve students' mental pressure during this period.

Yan Liya, a counselor for international students at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, stayed on campus to take care of international students during the outbreak.

"It is more convenient to stay on campus because when anything happens, I can deal with it on site as soon as possible," Yan said.

Yang Yin, a counselor for international students at Hohai University, organized over 300 international students at the school to take nucleic acid tests.

Many international students joined in the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak. International students at Southeast University volunteered to do COVID-19 control and prevention work with other students and faculty members. International students at Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute worked in separate teams to do work like buying groceries, checking temperatures, and guiding students on how to stay safe from the virus.
