The employment action plan for college graduates in Jiangsu province in 2022 was launched at Nanjing Normal University in Nanjing, Jiangsu province on Oct 30.

The action plan offered a wide range of job opportunities. A smart employment platform has held 454 job fairs in both online and offline venues, with 754,000 job opportunities for graduates in 2022.

The province has gathered 137 supportive policies from 13 cities and districts. It will also promote the policies across the province to attract talents to work and stay in the province.

There is a wide linkage among universities and colleges in the province. A total of 115 universities and colleges in Jiangsu have held 15,278 lectures and job fairs via the smart employment platform, matching the requirements of graduates with employers.

This year's number of college graduates in the province is expected to exceed 660,000, hitting a new high, according to Ge Daokai, director-general of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the global economic situation, college graduates in 2022 will face a more severe and complicated employment environment.

As a result, Ge has put forward clear requirements for colleges and universities, emphasizing that college graduates should be employed as soon as possible with high-quality employment so that employers will be able to hire suitable talents as early as possible to contribute to their development.

The launch ceremony held at NJNU attracted renowned schools like Haimen Middle School, Qidong Middle School, and Nanjing Foreign Language School Fangshan Campus.

"There are many excellent schools at the launch ceremony for job recruitment and they offer good benefits. I hope to be employed by a school to practice my teaching ability," said Cheng Yawen, an NJNU senior student majoring in teaching Math.

Schools also offered supportive policies to employ talents. For instance, Jingjiang No 1 Senior High School is conducting interviews without written tests and graduates who holds a teacher's qualification can apply, said a manager of the high school.
