39 Jiangsu projects win 2020 State science, technology prizes
Jiangsu province had 39 projects and one candidate awarded at an annual ceremony that was held to honor distinguished scientists, engineers, and research achievements in Beijing on Nov 3.
Among the 39 projects, three were awarded the 2020 State Natural Science Award, eight were awarded the 2020 State Technological Invention Award, and 28 were awarded the 2020 State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, of which several universities from Jiangsu province were included.
An architecture–related project led by Wang Jianguo, academician from Southeast University, and his team was awarded the first prize of the 2020 State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, marking the first time that the field of architecture in China had produced a recipient of the first prize of the National Science and Technology Award.
The second prize of the 2020 State Scientific and Technological Progress Award was given to projects involving Nanjing University, Southeast University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing Normal University, Hohai University, Nanjing Forestry University, Jiangnan University, Nanjing Agricultural University, as well as Yangzhou University.
The second prize of the 2020 State Natural Science Award was awarded to projects involving Nanjing University and Southeast University.
The second prize of the 2020 State Technological Invention Award was given to projects involving Southeast University, China University of Mining and Technology, Jiangnan University, Jiangsu University, as well as Changzhou University.
