Nanjing University will open its new Suzhou campus in East China's Jiangsu province in July 2022, according to an official WeChat account of the university. This will be Nanjing University's fourth campus, following the three located in Nanjing.

The Suzhou campus will focus on five disciplines: artificial intelligence and information technology, functional materials and smart manufacturing, biomedicine and health projects, Earth system and future environment, as well as digital economy and management science. The campus will cater to freshmen and postgraduates.

Teaching buildings in the new Suzhou campus will be consistent with those in the Gulou campus in terms of style, while about 6,000 square meters of Suzhou gardens will be built to infuse the campus with local characteristics.

Construction of the dormitories and an academic exchange center in the eastern part of the campus has been completed. The construction of the western section is expected to begin before the end of this year.
