Yuhuatai Martyrs' Memorial is located in the Martyrs' Cemetery in Nanjing for commemorating the 179 martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the New Democratic Revolution (1919-49).

It includes Yuhuatai Martyrs Group Sculptures, the Yuhuatai Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, a Reflecting Pool, the Yuhuatai Martyrs Memorial Hall and the Loyalty Pavilion.

The Yuhuatai Martyrs Memorial Hall is located on Renjia of Yuhuatai district in Nanjing. It is a beautiful building with traditional ethnic style and a modern flavor.

This was the execution and burial site of communists, supporters of the revolution and other opponents of the regime during the rule of Kuomingtang led by Chiang Kai-shek (1887-1975).

According to the official data, at least 100,000 communists and supporters fighting for the New Democratic Revolution were executed and buried here. In 1950 after the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Yuhuatai Hill and its surroundings were transformed into a memorial park.

The memorial hall has ten exhibition areas displaying precious historical materials of 179 martyrs who died in Yuhuatai and Nanjing.

A total of more than 460 photos, 630 cultural relics, 21 oil paintings, drawings and prints, eight reliefs, and four round sculptures are exhibited here.
