Online winter camp for overseas Taiwan teenagers opens

The 2021 Overseas Taiwan Teenagers Online Winter Camp opened in Zhenjiang, East China's Jiangsu province on Dec 23.
Nearly 100 Taiwan teenagers from countries like the United States, Canada, the Philippines, and Malaysia, as well as four US teenagers are participating in the nine-day activity. Through online courses and classroom discussions, the teenagers will learn about the local culture, intangible cultural heritage items, delicacies, and technological innovations in Suzhou, Yangzhou, Xuzhou, and Zhenjiang in the province.
Feng Zhicheng, deputy head of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, said at the opening ceremony on Dec 23 that the Chinese mainland and Taiwan share the same culture, and expressed hope that the young campers would gain wonderful memories about this experience.
The winter camp has been held for three consecutive years since 2019. It is organized by a number of authorities including the Taiwan affairs office of Zhenjiang, the education bureau of Zhenjiang, and the Xungen Association of Chinese-Americans.
