Soochow University in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province organized a ski experience outing for its students at a local indoor ski resort on Jan 18.

During the event, the 13 students, who come from different countries including China, South Korea, Russia, and Laos, attended a lecture about the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, which will open on Feb 4, and experienced skiing on simulators.

A girl from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who goes by the Chinese name Ma Yinuo and studies at the School of Chinese Language and Literature, said skiing is very popular in her country and that the indoor ski resort offers a great skiing experience.

Winter sports are becoming more and more popular among Chinese people as the Beijing Winter Olympics is approaching, said Liu Bo, director of the indoor ski resort, adding that visitor numbers at the resort have risen 30 percent compared with last year.
