Education authorities and schools in East China's Jiangsu province have taken concrete measures to promote student success and help deal with social issues.

In order to relieve academic pressure on students, the education commission of the CPC Nantong Municipal Committee has been arranging for teachers to help students with their studies after class. More than 96 percent of students and 97 percent of teachers in the city have participated in the campaign.

Universities in Jiangsu are making strong efforts to help their graduating students find employment. For example, in 2021, Soochow University in Suzhou held 15 job fairs and 297 promotional events, in which over 2,000 employers offered more than 40,000 positions.

Education authorities are also placing a strong emphasis on students' physical and mental health. The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education has formed a team of professional teachers to provide psychological counseling services for students and also conducted eye tests for 2.16 million kindergarten students and 4.63 million primary and middle school students.

Jiangsu schools have contributed a lot to society. Huaiyin Normal University in Huai'an has launched a project to set up 100 teams led by doctors to help revitalize Jiangsu villages in terms of industries, the environment, culture and tourism from 2021-23.
