Lianyungang offers big incentives to foster professional educators

Lianyungang in East China's Jiangsu province recently unveiled an action plan which involves using 18 million yuan ($2.84 million) to reward and attract outstanding educational talent.

According to the plan, the city aims to have about 300 excellent teachers, schoolmasters, and academic teams by the end of 2025.

High-level educational talents who come to Lianyungang to start careers will receive 1 million yuan to buy a residence. The families of these talents will also enjoy preferential treatment with regard to employment, school enrollment, and medical insurance.

Outstanding teachers and principals stand to receive a maximum of 200,000 yuan every year while academic teams could be rewarded up to 600,000 yuan.

Lianyungang has also set up regional liaison offices at 20 prestigious universities in China and will offer a maximum of 100 million yuan to colleges that build campuses, branches, and graduate schools in Lianyungang.
