A group of 32 expatriates from 21 different countries who live in East China's Jiangsu province participated in an activity in Jiangning district of Nanjing, the capital of the province, on March 3 to learn more about Jiangsu's economic and social development.

Organized by the Jiangsu People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the activity was part of a series of people-to-people exchange events that have seen the participation of 1,355 foreigners from more than 60 countries since October 2021.

After the launch ceremony, the group of foreigners visited high-tech company NR Electric Co. Having learned about the company's innovations, Matthew Shepard, principal of the British School of Nanjing, said he hopes to take his school's students to this activity so that they can have a better understanding of China's technological strength and rapid development.

During a later visit to the Jinling Small Town, a tourist resort that has recreated the ancient look of the city, Liberian student from the China Pharmaceutical University Babie took pictures with her friends and said the buildings and gardens in the attraction gave her an illusion of being in the ancient China.

At the last stop, Longshang village, the foreigners were informed that every Party member in the village is required to help 11 families with various issues. "It's amazing to see how precise China's community governance can be!" said Arnaud Kaltenmark, a French teacher from Nanjing Foreign Language School.
