Jiangsu University trains agricultural specialists for countries involved in BRI

Jiangsu University, which is located in Zhenjiang, East China's Jiangsu province, recently initiated an international training program for agricultural mechanization.
Promoted by the ministries of education and agriculture and rural affairs, the program is expected to last three to five months and features courses on agricultural production matters, including cultivation, crop field management, water-saving irrigation, grain harvest, food processing and agricultural product quality inspection.
More than 100 students from countries including Pakistan, Zambia, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon and Egypt participated in the educational program.
The university has to date trained over 1,400 agricultural equipment specialists from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
It has also signed memorandums of cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific to implement projects on international technology transfer and talent education related to agricultural machinery. The university has carried out four training programs targeting African countries since 2018.
