The Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government held a launch ceremony on April 2 for the 2022 Jiangsu LMC (Lancang-Mekong Cooperation) Day and a "Chinese Bridge" online cultural exchange program.
The four-week program features courses on Chinese language and traditional Chinese medicine that are conducted by experienced professionals through live streaming, videos, online visits and virtual reality. A total of 211 students from countries along the Mekong River are participating in the courses.
The Mae Fah Luang University in Thailand and Vietnam University of Traditional Medicine also held parallel sessions of the launch ceremony. The Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine has been actively communicating with the two colleges to learn about their students' expectations for the program.
The Chinese Bridge program is initiated by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, which is part of the Ministry of Education, to promote Chinese language education worldwide.
