A team of teachers and students from the School of Media Arts and Communication of the Nanjing University of the Arts in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu province designed the logo for the Long March 6A, or Chang Zheng 6A (CZ-6A), a carrier vehicle that was launched on March 29, local media reported recently.

The logo is a result of cooperation between the school and Shanghai ASES Spaceflight Technology Co, which is owned by research institute Aerospace System Engineering Shanghai. The two parties signed a cooperation agreement in 2018 and have since worked together to develop derivative products and teach the public about satellites and launch vehicles.

Led by Sheng Jin, deputy director of the School of Media Arts and Communication, the team members carried out extensive research into the technical characteristics and historical and cultural value of the CZ-6A and drew up 21 different plans before the final version of the logo took shape.

The team is part of the ITEC Research Institute on the Innovative Application of New Media, which belongs to the school's digital media arts experimental education demonstration center. The institute consists of artists, engineers and designers with different academic backgrounds. It has produced a large number of creative works, such as designs for virtual museums and urban lighting systems, in recent years.

The School of Media Arts and Communication will continue to cooperate with the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, which developed the CZ-6A, in making educational animations, user interface designs, and more.
