The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education recently uploaded 644 educational videos on multiple online platforms to provide primary and middle school students in Jiangsu with free access to learning.

A 20-minute English class conducted by Chen Feifei, a teacher at Suzhou Jinchang Experimental Middle School, is among the online classes. The English class is about Singapore culture and aims to inspire students to explore foreign countries as they are not able to travel abroad because of the pandemic, said Chen.

The class includes a PowerPoint presentation, a learning task list, demonstrations, and homework.

The online courses are expected to provide new teaching materials to school teachers and help with their work, said Xia Zhenghua, deputy director of the Suzhou Academy of Education Sciences. Suzhou has held a number of teaching competitions to encourage teachers to use information technologies, added Xia.
