15 Jiangsu universities rank among China's top 100

East China's Jiangsu province has 15 universities ranked among the top 100 in China, only fewer than Beijing, a list released by Shanghai Ranking, a professional university rating agency, on April 19 showed.
Nanjing University takes sixth place, while Southeast University rises one spot to 16th. The Nanjing University of Science and Technology moves up from No 37 in 2021 to No 24 in the latest ranking.
Nanjing Medical University and China Pharmaceutical University, both of which are located in Nanjing, are ranked third and 11th respectively among all medical schools in China. Nanjing University of Finance and Economics takes 10th position in the finance category, two spots higher than last year.
Nanjing Sport Institute is ranked the sixth among its kind in China, while Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is ranked fourth among all joint schools. Wuxi Taihu University takes the 13th spot among private universities.
Jiangsu has been intensifying efforts to improve its higher education. According to an action plan issued in March, the province aims to build 20 top-ranking high-level universities by 2025.
