The Airport Primary School in Lukou sub-district, Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu province has offered computer programing classes to its students with the help of the local government.
The rural school had not been able to offer a wide range of after-class activities as it was short of professional teachers. To improve the situation, the Lukou sub-district government invited One Space, a rocket technology company, to design programming courses and textbooks for the school.
The company has conducted 15 classes since October 2021 and many students at the school have managed to write programs and make simple animations.
More of such social organizations will offer various kinds of classes for schools in the future and such initiatives are expected to narrow the development gap between urban and rural education, local media outlets reported.
