Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province held a series of events on June 20 at Nanjing Medical University in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu, to attract outstanding college graduates.

The events included a job fair, seminars, and promotional events about Taizhou. Xu Wenjin, vice-mayor of the city, said during a promotional event that the China Medical City in Taizhou is the first national-level high-tech development zone of its kind and a popular destination for biomedicine and new medical equipment investments.

Taizhou is also a national demonstration base for health and wellness tourism, Xu added.

The vice-mayor also unveiled favorable policies for talents who work in the city. According to him, graduates with bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, leading figures in certain fields, as well as major medical research teams will receive subsidies related to buying or renting houses, starting new businesses, pursuing further studies and doing internships.

For example, college graduates can apply for subsidies worth 50,000-200,000 yuan ($7,437-29,746) to buy houses, 500-2,000 yuan per month to rent houses, and 500-2,000 yuan while finding jobs.

Twenty-nine companies and public institutions from Taizhou, including Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group, offered 727 jobs at the job fair and reached initial employment agreements with 132 students.
