East China's Jiangsu province will build about 100 post-houses in 2022 to accommodate new graduates seeking jobs away from home to attract young talent.
The post-houses, furnished with refrigerators, microwaves, wireless Internet, and other appliances, provide free short-term accommodation to students who graduated within the past two years. Services including job introduction and information consulting are also available.
Information about the post-houses can be found on the online platform of the Communist Youth League (CYL) of Jiangsu. The platform also allows qualified graduates to submit applications for a post-house.
Jiangsu's Nantong is now home to nine such post-houses and will build 13 more by the end of this year, said Zhu Yuanxing, deputy secretary of the CYL Nantong Municipal Committee. The city's post-houses offer less than seven days of accommodation for each eligible student no more than two times per year. Activities to share Nantong's preferential treatment for young talent and other types of gatherings are also held at the post-houses.
In Changzhou, the first group of post-houses recently opened to graduates. The 24 houses in the city's Xinbei district offer a maximum of three months of free accommodation. Residents of the houses can also enjoy free public transportation and discounted prices in some commercial districts in Changzhou.
