11th software design competition for college students concludes in Nanjing

The 11th "China Software Cup" Software Design Competition for College Students in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu province came to a close on Aug 16.
Organized by the ministries of education as well as industry and information technology and the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, the competition lasted a year and saw the participation of 5,576 teams from 31 provinces. After rounds of review and defenses, 21 teams won the first prize and the team from Wuhan University claimed the trophy.
Wang Jiangping, vice-minister of industry and information technology, said the event has provided a host of talents for the software industry, and that the ministry will further cooperate with provincial governments to groom high-level innovative software talents.
During the finals of the competition, a number of activities, including an exhibition about achievements of China's software sector in the past decade, and seminars on interactions between software enterprises and academies and building of leading software industrial parks, were held.
The 12th edition of the competition was launched that same day.
