Nearly 30 foreigners from countries including South Korea, Russia, and Kazakhstan visited the China Yixing Ceramics Museum on Sept 18 to explore the development of the ceramics industry in Yixing, a county-level city in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province.

While listening to an explanation by guides from the museum, the foreigners admired the cultural relics and exquisite purple clay works on display.

An international student from South Korea, who is studying at Nanjing University and was impressed by the scenic views in Yixing, said, "It is my first visit in Yixing and it's just like walking in a Chinese landscape painting."

Another international student from the Republic of Congo said that he never saw a ceramic work in his life, while a Kazakh student showed interest in the production of purple clay works, hoping that she will have the opportunity to make a purple clay teapot herself someday.

The Yixing trip is part of the 2022 Northeast Asian Youth Camp on Sustainable Development, which is sponsored by the training and exchange center of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and CRI Online of China Media Group.

With the tagline Envoy for Culture and Strength from Youth, the camp this year invited more than 200 foreigners from Northeast Asia and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative to visit places in Shandong, Jiangsu, and Jiangxi provinces from August to September.
