Southeast University in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu province recently distributed winter supplies to its underprivileged students.
The university's student support center prepared more than 1,000 items of different kinds, including down jackets, sweaters, scarves, socks, and hand creams. More than 800 blind boxes that contained groceries such as umbrellas, lamps, and rackets were also given out.
Some students living under very impoverished conditions also received 100 yuan ($14.34), 200 yuan, or 800 yuan cards that can be used to buy books, ride shared bicycles, and pay phone bills in their blind boxes.
The student support center also developed a WeChat mini program through which students can choose the items they need.
Southeast University has been handing out winter supplies for six years, benefiting thousands of students in the process.
