East China's Jiangsu province has been promoting aesthetic education in its schools and its achievements in this respect stand out from other areas in China, said Lin Dongpo, director of the aesthetic education center at Nanjing Normal University.
According to Lin, Jiangsu has developed many high-quality online and in-person art classes. One of his classes, Secrets of Traditional Chinese Music, is one of them. The class is about Chinese instrumental performance, Chinese people's aesthetic tendency, and the Chinese philosophy behind them, said Lin.
Jiangsu has also established an association for aesthetic education in schools. The association conducts theoretical research, improves teaching activities, offers training and consulting services, as well as promotes good practices.
The association will soon be focusing on exploring ways of sharing Jiangsu's universities' aesthetic education resources with primary and middle schools.
