Primary, middle schools in Jiangsu to open this weekend
Primary and middle schools in East China's Jiangsu province will open this weekend after a month-long winter holiday.
Many schools had upgraded their facilities during the holiday. For example, the Nanjing East Beijing Road Primary School bought new height adjustable desks for students in second to sixth grades.
Meanwhile, the Suqian branch of the High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University has added new aquariums and fish specimens to its science corner, renovated its theater and canteen, and built a farm for students to grow and observe various plants.
Schools have also revised their epidemic prevention plans according to China's latest COVID-19 policies. For example, teachers and students are now required to take their temperature every day of the week prior to returning to school.
Yao Shengfeng, vice-principal of the Nanjing East Beijing Road Primary School, said the school has an abundant supply of anti-pandemic materials including masks and disinfectant and will take teachers and students' temperature every day in the new semester.
