Overview: Southeast University(SEU), located in Nanjing, is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in China, whose origin can be tracked back to 1902. Now SEU has developed into a comprehensive university with a focus on engineering, boasting 34 schools or departments with 87 undergraduate programs, 50 Master's programs and 39 PhD programs. It holds a national lead in architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering, transportation engineering, information and communication engineering, computer science and technology, electronic science and technology, control science and engineering, biomedical engineering, art theory and material science and engineering, etc. 13 disciplines are ranked top 1% of ESI internationally, in which, computer science, material science and chemistry are ranked top 1‰, engineering is listed at No. 16 (top 1‱ ).

Southeast University has more than 3000 faculty, including more than 2000 professors and associate professors, 16 academicians of Chinese Academy of Science and Academy of Engineering. At present, the number of the full-time students now is over 38,000, of whom more than 20,000 are postgraduates.

In the development of Southeast University, international cooperation and exchanges play an important role. There are over 2000 international students from more than 100 countries studying in SEU, over 70% of whom are degree students.
