Overview: Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College was founded in 1986 and is located in Changzhou, the Dragon City, which is the core city of the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone. The College is affiliated with the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and is the most complete higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province with a wide range of urban-rural construction specialties. There are nearly 11,000 full-time students in the College.

The College was awarded a number of honors such as China Training Base for WorldSkills Competition, Jiangsu Training Base for National Vocational Skills Competition and the Advanced Institute for Jiangsu Vocational College Skills Competition.

The College adheres to open schooling. It has developed inter-college cooperation projects with universities in UK, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Chinese Taipei and other countries and regions. The College's achievements are widely recognized by the society as a national advanced college of vocational education.

Application Guide:

Application requirements

All applicants must meet the following basic criteria.

1. Non-Chinese nationals with a valid foreign passport.

2. Have a certificate equivalent to a Chinese high school diploma.

3. Generally between the ages of 18 and 22, with the ability to study and live independently and of good characters.

4. The family is financially well-off and has the ability to afford tuition fees and basic living expenses during study periods.

5. Interested in studying Chinese and related disciplines and understanding Chinese society and culture.

6. Academic students are required to provide proof of language proficiency.

(1) Chinese-taught programs: HSK4 or above;

English-taught programs: IELTS 5.0 or above.

(2) Applicants who are unable to provide proof of language proficiency may study Chinese in the College for one year and then could apply for professional courses after passing HSK4 (or above) examination.

7. Abide by laws and regulations and have no criminal record.

Application materials

1. High school diploma and transcript (if in a language other than Chinese or English, a translation into Chinese or English must also be submitted and notarized).

2. The first page and all visa pages of a valid ordinary passport (passport must be valid for 1 year or more).

3. A medical report within 6 months.

4. A certificate of no criminal record (in the case of a text in a language other than Chinese or English, a translation into Chinese or English must also be submitted and notarized).

5. Financial supporting documents (RMB 12,000 or more, to be accompanied by a copy of the guarantor's valid identity document).

6. A recent 1-inch, 2-inch white background bareheaded photograph (electronic photo).

7. An interview (2-3 minutes introduction, personal study plan, etc.).

8. Academic students provide proof of Chinese language proficiency (HSK4) or English language proficiency (equivalent to IELTS 5.0).

Note:

*All documents must be in English/Chinese or a notarized English/Chinese translation.

*Applicants must submit scanned copies of the above documents during the application process and original copies of the above documents upon enrolment. Please note that all documents submitted will not be returned.

Application Process

1. Online application please visit http://lxs.jscc.edu.cn/;

2. The College reviews the applicant's documents and conducts an interview.

3. The College sends a scanned copy of Acceptance Letter.

4. Accepted candidates remit RMB 400 registration fee within 7 working days and send a scanned copy of the remittance receipt to the College at jsccies@jscc.edu.cn.

5. After receiving registration fee, the College will send the Acceptance Letter and the Visa Application Form for Foreign Students to China (Form JW202).

6. Applicants should apply for a study visa in China at the Chinese Embassy (or Consulate) abroad with the Letter of Acceptance, the Record of Medical Examination for Foreigners and the Visa Application for Study in China.

7. International students should come to the College on time with the original Letter of Acceptance and relevant documents to complete the admission procedures. If cannot enter the College on time for any reason, applicant should submit an application in writing with sufficient reasons to the College for extension, and the application will be valid only after approval. The extension period should not exceed two weeks in general. Those who fail to apply or overstay for more than two weeks will be deemed to have forfeited enrolment status, except for justifiable reasons such as force majeure.

8. International students are required to review their application documents and admission documents and pay all fees within 7 working days upon arrival, after which the College will provide the documents required for the residence permit application.

9. International students are required to have routine check-up at designated hospitals.

10. The College will hold testing for the applicant's language level and learning ability.
