Overview: Jiangsu Ocean University is a public university in Jiangsu Province, which is located in Lianyungang, the connecting point of "the Belt and Road", the eastern bridgehead of Eurasian Land Bridge, one of China's first coastal cities opening to the outside world. The university has 20 schools, offering 70 undergraduate majors, and 19 master's degree programs awarding points, covering 10 disciplines such as engineering, science, management, literature, agriculture, law, economics, art, education and medicine.

JOU insists on opening up to the outside world and international cooperation as a breakthrough, and strives to build a high-end platform for regional economic and social development and cultural exchange. Currently, JOU has signed the Cooperation Agreement on Education and Scientific Research with many foreign universities, and has maintained friendly relations with dozens of universities in the United States, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Korea and other countries.

JOU has been recruiting international students on a large scale since 2015, and has trained more than 500 degree students, matriculated students, and language students from Russia, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, and other countries in total. In October 2015, "Lianyungang Zhongya International Students Training Base" was settled in JOU. In April 2016, JOU was awarded as the "Cultivating University for International Students to Study in Jiangsu". In December 2019, JOU became a director unit of the International Student Education Management Committee of Jiangsu Higher Education Society.
