Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine
Overview: Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (NJUCM) is a university included in the national "Double First-Class University Plan" and the Jiangsu High-Level Construction University Plan, a university jointly constructed by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Established in 1954, NJUCM is one of the earliest established universities of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China.
Over the last 69 years, NJUCM has trained the first wave of teachers, created the first edition of textbooks and teaching syllabus, produced the earliest academicians in TCM field, made fundamental contribution to the establishment and promotion of higher education mode for China, therefore has been renowned as "the cradle of China's higher education in Chinese Medicine". The university is WHO Collaborating Center for Traditional Medicine designated by the World Health Organization, and is International Acupuncture Training Center approved by the Ministry of Health.
Currently, NJUCM has nearly 20,000 enrolled students of various kinds and around 2000 faculties. It offers more than 30 undergraduate programs involving 6 branches of academic disciplines including medicine, management, science, engineering, economics and humanities, initially forming the educational pattern that centers on Chinese medicine while combining Chinese and Western medicines and developing multiple disciplines as its support. Its degree programs cover all the disciplines in Chinese Medicine, Chinese Medicine Pharmacology, and Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine.
