Overview: As one of the most ever-lasting vocational university in Jiangsu Province, Suzhou Vocational University was established in May 1981 based on Suzhou Industrial Junior College founded in 1911. Inheriting itself over one hundred years, our university has been cultivating talents and elites through years, including 7 academicians as alumnus.

We have a high-quality teaching team with 881 full-time teachers, including 85 with senior professional titles and 418 with deputy high or above professional titles. Teachers with master's degrees or above account for 82.5%. The university consists of 12 schools (divisions) and over 15000 regular full-time students.

The school currently has 3 Sino-foreign cooperative education projects, and the Sino-Australian Mechanical and Electrical Integration Technology and Accounting Professional Project is the high-level demonstration projects in Jiangsu universities. We have been selected as one of the Jiangsu Excellent Talents Program for Foreign Students, one of the Jiangsu Sino-foreign School Group Cooperation Alliance projects, two of the "14th Five Year Plan" international talent training brand majors in universities, and a provincial-level brand project for English teaching high-quality courses for foreign students in Jiangsu universities.

102 teachers have obtained the TAE (Australian Teacher Qualification) Level IV certificate, and have trained more than 2100 students in Sino-foreign cooperative education, as well as more than 300 full-time international students. The school has set up China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Cultural Exchange Center, Southeast Asia Vocational Education Industry-Education Integration Alliance, Malaysia Industrial Robotics Institute, exported 50 resources such as vocational education courses, and the practice of joint education of overseas skilled talents by schools and enterprises has been promoted and applied in many domestic institutions. Our school has also carried out sister city projects in Venice, the Republic of Congo (Pointe Noire), Latvia (Riga) to promote friendship between China and foreign countries. We have been awarded the title of "South African High Skilled Talent Training Demonstration Base" by the South African Industry and Manufacturing Training Agency.

SVU is the director unit of the Southeast Asia Vocational Education Industry-Education Integration Alliance, the deputy director unit of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Vocational Education Research Association of the Chinese Vocational and Technical Education Association, and the Chinese deputy director unit of the China-South Africa Vocational Education Cooperation Association.
