Overview: Yangzhou University (YZU) is a key comprehensive university jointly constructed by Jiangsu provincial government and Ministry of Education. The university history dates back to 1902 when the first two colleges were established for agricultural training and teachers' training.

YZU is now running on a large scale with a wide range of disciplines. There are more than 30,700 undergraduates and 16,200 postgraduates studying in its 32 colleges, including around 1,800 international students. YZU offers 125 bachelor's programs, 84 master's programs, 24 doctoral programs on campus, and holds 20 post-doctoral mobile stations both in and off campuses.

YZU attaches great importance to scientific research. According to the data released by ESI, 12 disciplines of YZU, namely chemistry, plant and animal sciences, engineering, agricultural sciences, clinical medicine, material science, computer science, biology and biochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology, environment/ecology, microbiology, molecular biology and genetics have entered ESI's top 1% among worldwide universities and research institutes.

YZU has constructed over 50 platforms for teaching and scientific research that are of ministerial or provincial level or above, including a Joint International Laboratory and a Research Center for Regional and Cross-nation Studies, and has set up close cooperation and exchange relations with 286 higher education institutions and research institutes in 56 countries and regions.
