Jiangsu universities seek global influence through live streaming

The Jiangsu Universities Overseas Cloud Exhibition organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education was launched at the Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology on May 8.
During the exhibition, 62 universities in Jiangsu, including Nanjing University and Southeast University, will showcase their strengths and programs for international students through online live streaming platforms and the English website of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education for overseas educational institutions and foreign students.
This exhibition is aimed at expanding the international influence of Jiangsu's higher education and attracting more outstanding foreign students.
Liu Xiao, an official with the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education, said in her video address at the launch ceremony that the overall scale and quality of higher education in Jiangsu rank among the top in China, making the province one of the most popular places for foreign students to study.
Yang Shubing, deputy director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, said he hopes that participating universities will invite more overseas partners to watch the exhibition and that international students will share the cloud exhibition with their families and friends.
After the launch ceremony, Gao Jing, dean of the Overseas Education College of Jiangsu University, shared the school's experience in live streaming, while Shi Liwei, deputy editor-in-chief of China Daily Website's Wuxi branch, gave a report on international communication strategies for universities.
