Jiangsu, Hong Kong, Macao to enhance basic education cooperation
Jiangsu province, Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions will launch a basic education cooperation alliance on July 21, aiming for more exchanges in terms of student and teacher visits, teacher training, and cultural and sports activities.
Wong Kam-leung, chairman of the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers, said he hopes the educational community in Hong Kong will make good use of the alliance to carry out more inter-school exchanges as well as broader interactions between teachers and students.
Currently, 192 schools in Jiangsu, Hong Kong, and Macao have established friendships. Zhu Liuming, principal of Huaiyin High School, which became a sister school of Macao's Lou Hau High School in December 2021, said during a one-week trip to the Macao school two years ago, he was deeply inspired by the way it ignites students' passions, addresses their personalized needs, and implements technology education.
Cheang Kit-chio, principal of Lou Hau High School, said Jiangsu is a national leader in education. He expressed his hope to learn good practices, such as special courses and projects, from Jiangsu and strengthen educational exchanges between the two regions to enhance students' overall capabilities and promote their personal development.
