Yangzhou University greets Brazilian delegation, hailing closer cooperation

Faculty members of Yangzhou University in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province welcomed a delegation from the State of Paraiba, Brazil from July 18 to 19.
Jiao Xin'an, the Party secretary of Yangzhou University, introduced the university and discussed cooperation with his Brazilian counterparts after a warm welcome. He called for enhanced cooperation and communication between universities and research institutes in the two countries in key fields such as the construction of the BINGO (Baryon Acoustic Oscillations from Integrated Neutral Gas Observations) radio telescope.
Antonio Fernandes Filho, the principal of the Federal University of Campina Grande in Paraiba, concurred with Jiao’s calling and said he expects a deepening relationship between his school and Yangzhou University.
During the visit, Jiao, on behalf of the university, signed memorandums of understanding with Filho and Mary Roberta Meira Marinho, the rector of the Federal Institute of Paraiba.
A symposium on high-quality international cooperation was also held, discussing a range of issues including talent cultivation, faculty and student exchange, and joint scientific research.
