Some international students from Soochow University were invited to an art exhibition in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, on Oct 28.
The students had the opportunity to participate in one of Suzhou's most cherished traditional arts – bonsai making. Bonsai is the art of cultivating miniature trees in pots, carefully shaping and pruning them to create a harmonious and aesthetical composition.
Under the guidance of skilled bonsai experts, the international students learned about the history and techniques of bonsai making. They were fascinated by the intricate process of shaping and pruning the tiny trees, as well as the patience and precision required. Through their hands-on experience, the students gained a deeper understanding and appreciation for the unique art form.
As a renowned city in China, Suzhou is famous for its rich cultural heritage, especially its beautiful gardens and traditional arts. The art exhibition aims to promote the exchange and integration of culture between China and the rest of the world.
