This is my incredible journey I've been on at Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (NJUPT). My name is Asifa Asrafi. I'm from Bangladesh and I'm a senior student majoring in Computer Science and Technology. The story begins with me completing the first two years of my bachelor's degree online. It was a unique experience, but nothing compared to the excitement of finally stepping onto the NJUPT campus.

The day I arrived on campus, a mix of emotions flooded over me. Meeting my previous teachers in person, especially my Chinese language teacher (Wang Xingjiong) was a truly emotional moment. I couldn't hold back my tears as the gap between online interactions and real-life connections suddenly closed.

During my NJUPT journey, I've completed numerous courses, each contributing to my growth. Among them, courses like Information Security and Technology, Computer Architecture, Operating System, and Advanced Mathematics hold a special place in my heart. These classes were made unforgettable not only by the subject matter but also by the incredible camaraderie among my classmates and the dedication of the professors. I must mention my favorite teacher, Professor Chen Wei. His guidance and caring demeanor made me feel like my father. Every question I asked was met with a patient and thorough explanation, guiding me through the complexities of the course material.

Transitioning from virtual classes to the vibrant campus life was a game-changer. Suddenly, everything became tangible and alive. Participating in various activities felt so different in person. The atmosphere was buzzing with energy, and the feeling of being part of a larger community was amazing. It was like a whole new world opening up before my eyes.

One of the most incredible things about being on campus was the chance to engage in different activities offline. Back when I was learning online, I missed out on the real sense of community. But now, I was part of events like the "Nanjing Xianlin Half Marathon," the "Chinese Recital Contest," the "International Dancing Competition," and more. These experiences not only broadened my horizons but also allowed me to dive deeper into Chinese culture.

Speaking of activities, two events really stood out for me. The "Chinese Recital Contest" had a theme of "Ancient China to Modern China." I wore a traditional Chinese dress and recited Chinese poems. It was a fantastic way to immerse myself in Chinese culture and history. Then there was the "International Dancing Competition," where I got to showcase my own cultural heritage. Alongside my fellow country mates, I wore our traditional clothing and danced our local dance. It was a beautiful exchange of cultures as I shared my heritage with my Chinese friends.

Life in our NJUPT international dormitory is a unique experience of its own. Each block houses four international students, and I'm fortunate to have clean and cooperative block-mates. We've formed a close-knit bond, sharing not just our living spaces but also our stories, food, and cultures. NJUPT's campus boasts three canteens, each featuring a halal store for Muslim students like me. While I mainly enjoy meals at the halal store, I also make it a point to savor traditional Chinese dishes. Hot-Pot has quickly become my favorite, although I can't resist the allure of Fried Rice, Chicken, and Dumplings — each a delightful journey for my taste buds.

Academically, I continued to pursue my studies diligently. My dedication earned me an "outstanding student cadre" scholarship, recognizing my commitment. I'm also hoping to secure the Jiangsu Scholarship this year based on my attendance and performance. And I would like to mention that I already got scholarship in my previous academic years. Nanjing Government scholarship in 2nd academic year and Jiangsu Scholarship in 3rd academic year.

As a senior student at NJUPT, I'm already setting my sights on the future. My plans revolve around my thesis, a voyage into the realm of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. These concepts have captivated my interest, leading me to spend my vacation reading research papers and enrolling in online courses on Python, PyTorch, Machine Learning, and AI. I'm also learning Chinese with the goal of achieving HSK 4 proficiency before my graduation. It's a challenging yet exhilarating journey that I'm excited to undertake.

This journey at NJUPT has been a tapestry of growth, culture, and friendship. From tearful reunions to mesmerizing dance performances, each moment has shaped me in ways I couldn't have imagined. As I continue this adventure, I'm excited to uncover more chapters of my story on this vibrant campus.
