Jiangsu director of education meets EVP of Duke Kunshan University

On March 4, Jiang Yong, director-general of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, met with John Quelch, executive vice-chancellor of Duke Kunshan University, for an in-depth discussion on the development of the University.
Jiang briefly introduced both the overall situation and development of higher education in Jiangsu province, as well as the major achievements in international exchanges in recent years. He noted that Duke Kunshan University, which is located in Kunshan, Suzhou, has achieved fruitful results in promoting the cultivation of international talents and enriching cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries over the past 10 years.
Jiang expressed hopes that Quelch can continue to introduce more high-quality international educational resources to the university in terms of disciplines, courses, and faculty. He also encouraged the deepening of cooperation between Duke University, Duke Kunshan University, and Jiangsu universities in talent cultivation, scientific and technological innovation, faculty development, and cultural exchanges.
Quelch said that Jiangsu's continuous investment in higher education has not only nurtured many well-known institutions but also promoted the vigorous development of international exchanges and cooperation in education.
In the future, the university will expand its enrollment scale and make full use of its advanced hardware facilities to support exchanges and studies for US students in China through various forms, including summer programs, seminars, and forums. At the same time, the university will closely focus on the needs of Jiangsu's industrial and economic development and cultivate outstanding talents with international vision and innovation capabilities, Quelch added.
