Yancheng Museum hosts international students for traditional Chinese clothing experience

From Aug 10 to Sept 17, Yancheng Museum is holding its third annual Hanfu Cultural Month, attracting numerous visitors eager to experience Chinese traditions. On Aug 17, over 30 international students from countries including Germany, Turkmenistan, Cambodia, Pakistan, India, and Zimbabwe embarked on a journey into China's rich cultural heritage at the museum.
During their visit, the students explored the museum's exhibitions, gaining a deep appreciation for Yancheng's ancient civilization through historical artifacts. They also learned about the region's wetlands and biodiversity and were particularly captivated by the city's intangible cultural heritage after witnessing the intricate craftsmanship and techniques passed down through generations.

In a hands-on workshop, staff members at the museum introduced the history and cultural significance of the traditional attire of the Han Chinese. The students created their crafts, blending traditional elements with modern origami techniques. This interactive approach allowed them to experience the beauty of traditional Chinese clothing up close.
The event was a cultural exchange and a demonstration of the enduring appeal of Chinese traditional culture. Many students expressed that the experience enhanced their appreciation for Chinese culture and sparked their interest in further exploration. They look forward to more opportunities to participate in similar cultural exchanges.
